Technical Specification

ATS-Optimized Resume Construction & Template Engine

Overview

The ToolsForges Resume Builder enables job seekers to construct professional, ATS-optimized resumes entirely within the browser, choosing from four distinct templates — Sidebar, Classic, Modern, and Minimal — each designed with standard section headings and clean layouts that pass automated screening systems. Paste any job description to get an instant ATS compatibility score with matched and missing keywords. All resume data is processed in-browser with zero server transmission.

Feature Specifications

  • Four ATS-Compliant TemplatesChoose from Sidebar (two-column with accent sidebar), Classic (single-column, most ATS-friendly), Modern (blue accent bar with section decorators), and Minimal (ultra-clean whitespace-focused) designs.
  • JD Score CheckPaste any job description to receive an instant compatibility score with matched and missing keywords displayed as tagged indicators, plus detailed breakdowns across Skills Match, Keyword Match, and Section Completeness.
  • Categorized Technical SkillsOrganize technical competencies by domain — Mobile, Frontend, Backend, DevOps — for improved ATS keyword matching and human readability in a structured, scannable format.
  • Browser-Side Print to PDFExport your finished resume as a PDF directly through the browser's print dialog (Ctrl+P / Cmd+P, select Save as PDF, A4 paper size) with no server-side rendering.

Architecture

The resume builder uses React useState for all form fields, with template rendering handled by styled components that adapt to the selected design. The JD comparison engine runs regex matching against the job description text. PDF export leverages the browser's native print API.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which template is most ATS-friendly?

The Classic template is the most ATS-friendly due to its single-column layout, centered header, and clean section dividers. All four templates use standard headings that ATS parsers recognize.

Can I save my resume for later editing?

Resume data persists in your browser's memory during the session. For permanent saving, use the print-to-PDF export. LocalStorage persistence is not currently supported.

Does the JD Score Check guarantee interviews?

The score identifies keyword and structural alignment with the job description. While it significantly improves ATS compatibility, interview decisions depend on experience and other factors.

Is my resume data secure?

All resume content, personal details, and employment history are processed exclusively within your browser. No data is transmitted to external servers, stored in cookies, or shared with third parties.
